What happens at the site? Life within and around the lake. Swimming, walking, sitting, watching

Architecture- circle, rectangular steps, circular rocks, unique trees, moving fountain

We incorporated the various movements and objects around and within the lake. We tried to represent these things throughout the performance.

  1. This lesson is valuable because we turned physical landmarks into movements, which is a kinesthetic type of learning that no students are used to, because assignments like this one are rare. Representing each landmark with our bodies tells a story, and tells more about each place than just meets the eye.

  2. This exercise involved taking an ordinary environment around campus and developing a deeper focusing of that structure. The students had to put their minds and bodies at work to resemble and represent their structures. The students had to collaborate, discuss, and contribute ideas to find and site and decide what actions they were going to take. This exercise unravels a subsurface meaning and shows more of an appreciation of structural commotion in a day-to-day environment.
