Stefanie Gonzalez's lesson on the elements of a story is illustrated through a learning activity in which students use cereal to visualize concepts such as plot, setting,  character, events, problems and solutions.

The Rainbow

● Objective: teach the colors and the order of the rainbow and have the students be able

to recreate it themselves

● Age: first grade

● Introduction:

● Write on board, ask what each letter stands for

● ROYGBIV

○ R- red

○ O- orange

○ Y- yellow

○ G- green

○ B- blue

○ I- indigo

○ V- violet

● Activities

○ Hand out skittles

■ Ask the students to hold up each color one at a time

● Assessment

○ Have them put their skittles in the order of the rainbow
